Another good round, but from the Yellow Tees.

We were back to our usual Tuesday's at Shawnee GC today.  It was a hot one, but I decided to try and walk the whole 18.  We had a 3-some today, and one of them, Jerome, was in a cart.  I didn't hitch any rides on the front nine, but on the back nine I had to give in and take a few rides from the tee to our ball in the fairway.  It helped a lot.  I played pretty good today.  I shot a 38 - 38 = 76 on a 34 - 36 = 70 course.  Just 6 over par.  I didn't accomplish one of my goals though, which is to play without a double bogey.  I doubled the 5th hole.  A poor tee shot into the trees, which kicked out onto the fairway, but a long way from the green.  But my second shot was worse than the first. I hit it off the toe over into the trees again.  So my 3rd shot, I had to hit a 4 iron back in my stance to keep it low, and try and fade it up to the green 135 yards away.  And, I hit the green, which I thought was an excellent shot.  But, I proceeded to 3-putt for a 6 after being a little bold on my first putt and running it 6 feet past the hole.  But, that turned out to be my only bad hole of the 18.  My handicap down at Shawnee is a 7.  So, even shooting a good score, I don't think I have a chance to win any of the money.
Overall, I was pleased with the round.  I believe this was round 29 for the year.  I'll double check and change it if it's wrong!
