What Derby is all about......

Derby is my favorite day of the year. Everyone know that. You can have your Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, Etc., just give me my Derby Day. It's said that the Derby is the most exciting two minutes in sports. In my opinion, it's the most exciting two minutes in anything! We had a fun time at the Tabler house this Derby Day. A lot of people. No, a lot of FAMILY. It was great. It rained, so everyone had to stay inside. No corn hole, sitting on the deck, or sitting in the back yard. The rain made it crowded, but made it a much cozier. I looked around every so often, and I could always hear at least 8 people talking at the same time. I think everyone had a good time, even if they did lose a little money. Thanks for taking everybody's money, Uncle Mark! I think he won 7 jackpots! Jill heard ice cream mentioned early in the day, and it was around 5 o'clock when she finally asked Mimi, "When are we going to eat ice cream?". Well, she got some pretty quick.
And, at Derby time, as the gate for the Kentucky Derby opened, I had my two granddaughters sitting on my lap, watching the Run for the Roses. Life doesn't get any better than that.

Sounds like you were in heaven, Grampy. Sorry I couldn't be there to see all the bliss!
