I'm back in the saddle again.....

I played round 15 for the year today after being off for almost 4 weeks! My back felt great! No problems at all. I didn't play very well, but I expected to very inconsistant after not playing for so long. I know I played a scramble, but I've always thought that scrambles are the very worst thing for your golf game.
So, I played Shawnee GC today and shot a 46 - 43 + 89. Pretty bad considering that's the last place I played 4 weeks ago and shot an 80. By the way, that 80 I shot won me $20 which I just got today.
I got a call from the Doctor while I was gone and called them back when I got home. They took X-rays yesterday and called to give me the results of them. It seems I have a lot of Arthritis back there, which I already knew, but also, the pain in my back has been caused by the passage the nerves run through is becoming restricted and will most probably require surgery in the future. That's not good. I thought my pain might be caused by nerves because at times it wouldn't hurt at all, and other times I'd have extreme pain. Strained muscles wouldn't act that way. They'd be sore and eventually get to feeling better, with less and less pain.
So, anyway, I'm back playing golf now, and I think I can get my game back into the low 80's pretty fast now. I missed a lot of very makeable par putts today.

Oh no...surgery is never a fun idea. Will you be able to find time to take off work to recover? Also, if they give you a bionic back along with your bionc hip, what does that translate into the number of strokes you will give me?
