Old Penny, New Penny

I was talking to my son Mark last night about getting a 1959 penny in change yesterday.  And how it's hard to believe that it's already 53 years old.  1959 was the first year of the "Lincoln Memorial" back penny.
Well, today, I got a 1958 penny in change from the grocery.  This was the last year for the "Wheat Back" penny.  No, it's not rare and valuable, but you just don't get those "Wheat Back" pennies in change very often.
I'll save it.  Those of you who read my blog know that I save all kinds of things, and pennies 1982 and older are one of the things I save, because 1982 was the last year they made copper pennies.
Just thought this was neat.

I think that's neat too. And two days back to back '59 and '58 first and last. Cool.

I always notice the older nickels I get here at work. Found a '55 nickel yesterday. Not worth keeping for any reason, but I always notice them.
