A little metal detecting.....

I metal detected again today at St Matthias field.  This time I detected the other side of the field than I normally check, over behind the church. After the rain yesterday I thought it might me damp enough to dig.  It was still very dry about an inch and a half down.  I found 67 cents and a Mackanac Island token.  the token, on the other side, had "Sunoco American Landmarks".  So, I assume Sunoco Stations gave these out as  a promotion at one time, having people collect all 'Landmarks". I also found some kind of medal.  I thought it was a religious medal of some kind, but now I'm not sure.  Trying to make out the image, it looks like more like "Granny Clampett".  Anyway, pull it up close and see what you think.  Besides this stuff, I also found about a half dozen pieces of aluminum cans.

are you sure that's not a locket of some type with a photograph? Hard to tell, but it looks like there is an image behind a piece of glass or quartz.

It was so badly corroded that I decided to operate. I took off the plastic cap, still couldn't tell. Then removed the picture, which was made of cloth. After removing and examining, I'm sure it was a 'Jesus' picture of some type. But, it's now in the garbage.

I have stood right in the spot pictured on the Macinac Island token.
