I metal detected in a lot between 'The Altenheim' and a church to the north of it off Barret Ave. I've passed the field a number of times lately, mainly on my way to Rubel Park and thought I'd check it out one of these days.
I think a couple of house used to sit there because there's stille some steps from the sidewalk up the little hill beside the walk. I found a lot of twist off metal bottle caps, which I hate. But I found a total of 71 cents including this 1946 penny and this 1968 Shell Oil Presidential Coin. I'm going to go back there and look a little more one of these days soon. I detected for about and hour and a half and got tired. Digging up bottle caps wears you out. Those caps are mashed and read like a coin on the detector, so you have to dig. It was a nice day to be out detecting.
