My regular Thursday round at Iroquois GC today. I shot a 40 - 43 = 83. Every round of golf I finish I look back at the few really bad shots I hit and think what it 'could've been'. I hit 5 bad shots today. Each one cost me at least 1 stroke. Just getting those 5 strokes back the round would have been a 78. I 'skulled' 2 wedges over the green. Both of those cost me the original shot plus one more. I hit one 3-wood in a creek. Not a real bad shot, just didn't get it up enough to clear the high weeds in the creek. One ball dribbled off the heel of the 3-wood on hole 9 and a badly pulled 5-iron on hole 15 and there it was. A score of 83 that should have been in the upper 70's. Other than those shots I hit the ball well and putted well today. Just 5 shots that if they had been hit so-so I'd be looking at shooting a 75-76. Don't all of you golfers think about all the shots you threw away during a round and what 'could've been'? But, like Dandy Don says "If it's and but's were candy and nuts.......". Round 48 for the year.
That picture reminds me of the time you were unsuccessfully repairing the bathroom plumbing, and sat on the hallway floor and declared that you were a beaten man.
